Joan Nymand Larsen

Joan Nymand Larsen (PhD in Economics) is senior scientist and research director with the Stefansson Arctic Institute. She is also professor of economics and arctic studies at the faculty of humanities and social sciences, University of Akureyri, where she teaches economics and Arctic studies. Current research interests include issues and challenges of Arctic and resourced based economies and their socio-economic development and sustainability; climate change and global change impacts; and the study and measurement of Arctic living conditions and quality-of-life.
