REXSAC director appointed Professor of History at Luleå Technological University (LTU)

Dag Avango, reseacher at the Div of history at KTH and managing director of REXSAC since 2017, has been appointed Professor of History at Luleå Technological University. The research profile of the LTU history unit is very close to REXSAC, focusing on the history of natural resources, energy and environment with particular attention to the Arctic region. Indeed, these topics are a priority area and central to the profile of Luleå Technological University. Thus, in his new position, Avango sees great possibilities for long-term engagement with the fields of research and partners in REXSAC and for deeper involvement of LTU in the Nordic Centre of Excellence in the years to come.
Avango started his position on June 1, but his work as managing director and PhD training coordinator in REXSAC will still be base at the Division of History at KTH. Avango will move some of his research in REXSAC to LTU. The history unit will hire 3 new PhD students, who may work on the research problems of REXSAC.
